Description

I remember observing this globular many years ago with a 6" reflector, less light pollution then, and finding out about it as the most distant Milky Way globular cluster at 300 kly. It may well have been a dwarf galaxy consumed by the Milky Way aeons ago. NGC2419 is estimated to be large in size at ~290 ly in diameter.

This image was taken with a 92% illuminated moon in the sky.
