Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a spiral galaxy located 150 million light years away in the constellation of Pisces at a declination of -1 degrees.  This galaxy spans 2.5 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 100,000 light years.

This is a classic barred double ring galaxy.  It is interesting to me how so many of these types of galaxies have outer rings that are oval while having inner rings that are almost round.

I like the small bright white areas of star concentration scattered at about 45 degree increments around the bottom half of the inner ring.
