Description

My first run at chasing a newly spotted Supernova. The SN2022hrs supernova was discovered on 16Apr2022 by Koichi Itagaki (http://www.k-itagaki.jp) and was reported Mag 15 when discovered. It is now mag 12.5 according to https://www.rochesterastronomy.org/supernova.html#2022hrs. I'm pretty happy with the image and, given it would have taken me some time to get around to capturing M60, I get a free Messier object. I plan to monitor the data and capture an image after the brightness subsides.

Many thanks to several Astrobin users I follow for posting this first and giving me the idea to give this a whirl. Now that I'm aware of the supernova tracking sites, I may be in for another image when the next transient gem is spotted.
