Description

IC410 is best known as the Tadpoles Nebula. It is located about 12,000 light years away in the constellation of Auriga. It is part of a much larger star forming region that also contains the Flaming Star nebula as well as the Spider and Fly Nebula. The "tadpoles" are similar structures to the famous Pillars of Creation, and are being shaped by the stellar winds from the star cluster in the center of the image they formed. These bright, hot central stars also provide the "fuel" that has ionized these gasses and cause them to glow in the blackness of space.
