Description

Initial image of the Flaming Star Nebula,  IC 405, from the Constellation Auriga which is about 1,500 light years from Earth.  Taken at the iTelescope observatory in Mayhill, New Mexico with a Planewave 20’’ 508mm reflector telescope and  FLI ProLine PL11002M CCD camera.  Image is from four 300 second exposures, one each for LRGB.  Processed with Pixinsight and Apple edit software.
