Description

After many months of cloudy nights, last night I set my sights on this prominent supernova remnant.

Actually, I just tried it one night earlier, but i was initially overwhelmed with my  Setup after such a long time and spend several hours to "practice". :-)

A little insight into this:
- I got rid of the off axis guider and thus had to set up the optical train again (still slight egg-stars...)
- I didn't tighten the locking lever of the EQ6R properly and spent at least two hours wondering why the alignment was completely off...
- I mounted the MGEN on the guiding scope, found the focus and adjusted to the best possible FWHM value. After some more hours, Google-Tips and Schnapps I was able to answer the question why the calibration did not work: I had not connected the cable of the guider with the mount...

But now I like the Cygnus Loop and it was worth it for a lazy image-processing-Sunday.

Clear Skies, Miriam
