Description

These are the two beautiful galaxies M81 and M82 and their little friend NGC 3077.
It is a well known group in the constellation Ursa Major.
M81 is a spiral galaxy with a very symetric shape
M82 is something completely different. It is a starburst galaxy with a giant Ha jet coming out of its core.
Barely visible in the background of the image is the galactic cirrus. Also known as Integrated Flux Nebula or short IFN. This dust sits in our own galaxy and is illuminated by the stars of our galaxy.
