M31 4 panel mosaic LRGB A Veloce first light.

Good friend Julian R lent me his OS Veloce RH and QSI 6120 camera. Andromeda is only a 4 panel mosaic with this set up compared to 32 panes with my gear. So a big thanks to you Julian.

Hopefully we'll get a few more clear nights to gather more subs on this. Only 3 hour per panel atm.

Description: Added another 5 hours on the 8th and 10th of October. These allowed me to chuck out the poorest frames from the earlier images. Hopefully I'll continue to add to this.

Description: Finally added the 90minutes of Ha per panel, also got to play with the windows 10 version of Pixinsight and it's new features. My old Atik 314l's driver worked on windows 7 so never upgraded. Only a subtle process. The ha isn't in your face, messed up the core though but I like the galaxy as a whole.

Description: Added in the Ha a little stronger. I Never ran the HDR Composition script though, as this was exposing the saturated blob in the central core.

Description: Reprocessed this from scratch. Better colour and a better core. RC Astro's Gizmo's, Arcsign stretch for the initial move to non linear. Then GHS produced a bit more dust. Pleased with the outcome and worth the 2 days to process again.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
