Description

NGC 3359 is a SBc galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major which also features large star formation regions. It was discovered by William Herschel (who else?)  230 years ago. Surprisingly (to me at least), only few images of this beauty can be found on astrobin. This object definitely deserves future revisits as it features some extended but very faint outer spiral arms (which I only can see a tad of in my raw L image), and the star formation regions could also make it a good target for additional Ha data.

Data were taken on March 18 and March 24
