Spending one night at -6 C taking photos, checking how much batteries remained to continue feeding the equipment. Maurizio knew that the comet was visible at that time and he looked for it and as he could, he centered it in the telescope and began to take pictures of it.
The computer batteries died after 15 min. but the camera and mount were still operational, so he opted to do them manually and at two ISO until the camera battery also died 20 min later ...
In fact, doing control of the frames made I had to discard some for the stack in two parts that I made of this work.
Recalling what was done last time with the Neowise, this time the work was faster and despite being less data it is of better quality, at least from what you can see how the stars are and the length of the tail of the Comet Leonard.
Maurizio also made a clip of the comet where you can also see the amount of satellites that in those scarce 35 minutes crossed the sky in that area, it is incredible.
In the Revision session there are three images that reveal a bit of the comet interior: it was done two different choices of midtones where you can see its core and also the slight flattening that the head of the comet presents on its forehead. (probably because of the speed with which it travels?).
At least the freezing of that night that Mauri suffered was worth it to be able not only to observe it but to have an image of Comet Leonardo. Several times from our home I waked up early but it was impossible to observed it or due weather condition or because in the end there is visual obstruction at that so low latitude. We hope to later work on the Atlas and Pawntrrs material that we still have unprocessed.
