Description

This image was taken with an Atik 320e. With my 102 scope it has a fairly narrow field of view. I do like that it has fairly low noise making processing slightly easier. I had one heck of a Time acquiring the data. Many nights I had high winds and guiding challenges. On one particular night I forgot to turn off the sprinklers and it completely saturated my mount and Camera. I had to take the camera apart and dry it out. Amazingly it continues to work. I had to completely disassemble my mount and dry it out, re-grease, re-adjust it. After taking everything apart I lost my field rotation with the camera. Unfortunately that led to my subframes being stacked rotated from one another. Because of the narrow field of view this camera it has I had to do some unwanted cropping. That set me back quite a close to a week. I applied my own version of tone mapping in the processing. Channels are assigned with traditional Hubble palette. All subframes were taken at 10 minutes. 40+ hrs
