Description

The Eskimo Nebula is one of those strikingly enthralling subjects that makes this habby so rewarding. I always wanted to get a really good image and kept trying year after year, hoping for those moment of great seeing and clear air that would allow me to push the resolution as far as it can go.

I tried in 2004, then in 2005 and in 2006. Then finally in October 2007 I had the right combination of seeing and transparency to go for it. Curiously (or not) this one image wasn't taken via burst of short exposure but by guided imaging. As I already had enough colour frames since 2004 I could not be bothered in acquiring the colour frames but concentrated in getting the luminance frames instead.

Sadly, the original record of those RGB integrations are lost and therefore cannot be reported here. NGC2392 is also the last of the PNs in my back catalog before the Winter galaxy season brings its dearth of galactic prime material.
