Description

The highly eroded Goldschmidt impact crater lies to the far north, overlaid to the west by the younger and much more striking Anaxagoras crater. Goldschmidt has a diameter of approx. 115 kilometers at a depth of 3420 meters. The Mare Frigoris is just in the foreground.

The pictures were taken with the 2.5x Barlow and the resulting focal length of 5080mm. I processed 400 frames out of 2x5000 = 10000 frames. The frame rate was 64fps with a gain of 233 and an exposure time of 6.6 ms.

I used this image to try sharpening and denoising again in the comparison between Registax and AstraImage. I again had the impression that wavelet sharpening with Registax very quickly produces artifacts that you cannot get rid of, especially if the original material is not of the best quality. After appropriate training, I will work on this recording again with Fitswork based on Rudi's recommendation.

As always, I look forward to recommendations and harsh criticism.
