Description

The Pleaides was one of the first targets I photographed with my DSLR, lens and small tracker when I first started. It is a great beginner target as it is bright, easy to find in the sky, and is very colorful. I have imaged this target with each of my scopes and cameras as I've progressed as an Astrophotographer and this my latest attempt at it with my new Mono camera and LRGB filters.
The Pleiades, also known as The Seven Sisters and Messier 45, is an open star cluster containing middle-aged, hot B-type stars in the north-west of the constellation Taurus. The cluster is dominated by hot blue and luminous stars that have formed within the last 100 million years. Reflection nebulae around the brightest stars were once thought to be left over material from their formation, but are now considered likely to be an unrelated dust cloud in the interstellar medium through which the stars are currently passing (Wikipedia).
