Description

First light with an ASI2600 camera and some other equipment upgrades. I'm quite impressed with the extra sensor size, dynamic range, and other new features. Kudos to Sony and ZWO for the step improvement.

This portion of the Vela Supernova Remnant is quite faint, which may explain the scarcity of examples on AstroBin. The oxygen filled shockwave fronts to the left of frame are known as the Twin Crescents. The vertical filament to the right, known as the Bypass, is tightly defined at the top, then rapidly diffuses below. The young cluster right of centre is NGC 2659

This HOO image with RGB stars took lots of work to remove moonlight gradients without destroying nebulosity, but I got there in the end. I'm enjoying exploring the Vela SNR which is turning out to be quite varied.

Thanks for taking a look.
CS and good health to all!
