Description

One of the faintest nebulae on the equatorial skies, with an approximate declination of only -8°, the Witch Head nebula is a  difficult target for those under light polluted skies, as it is reflected by Rigel in the Orion complex. Under high altitude or outlying sites, the dust particles reflected photons don't get mixed with the earth's light pollution and shows itself as a cloud almost hugging it's neighbor star Rigel.

Taken as always inside my roll-off wooden observatory, during the only clear night I had during the rainiest summer in the last 40 years in Brazil- with consecutive rainy days for over six months, from october 22 until recently, march 23, as a result of significant changes in our climate and the lack of the before lasting Atlantic rainforest. The clear nights during that time ended up being full-moon days...
