Description

The Draco Triplet (aka the Draco Group), in the Constellation Draco the Dragon, is composed of 3 differently appearing galaxies:  (right to left) most prominent is face-on spiral NGC 5985 / middle elliptical galaxy NGC 5982 / and edge-on spiral NGC 5981, respectively 120  / 130  / 100 M LY away. The Andromeda Galaxy is ‘only’ 2.5M LY away so this trio is relatively distant.

There is actually a fourth small lenticular galaxy - NGC 5976 - just to the left of NGC 5981. As well, a few smaller galaxies can be found when looking closely.
