Normally I'd cringe a little at the lens flare, but I'm kind of liking the impact it has overall on the photo. I've been wanting to photograph this DSO for quite a while, and it has literally haunted me (pun intended) that each and every time I'd try, the weather would close in. A very fitting ordeal to try to capture this apparition like structure. It is still one of my favorites in the sky. I'll probably revisit at some point with more data, but i'm happy with the start of this little project.
02/20/23 - So I've been chasing this "ghost" for over a year, and it has literally been haunting me. We've had some of the worst skies at night in a very long time this year. I finally got a decent shot of the faint nebula itself, but wasn't happy with how the stars/star color turned out, so I went back tonight during a VERY BRIEF window of no clouds and got star exposures in true color with a UV/IR filter and then combined them.
