Description

I was anticipating telling you that this picture probably wouldn't have turned out any good. The Moon was up and very full (really most don't bother shooting when then moon is up). It washes out contrast. And on top of all this, I was trying out new techniques and working out several bugs that ate into the time I had to collect data.  Still, with just 1 and 1/2 hrs I managed to shoot this challenging galaxy. And you know what?...I think I like how it turned out. It's not bad.

This is M33 The Triangulum Galaxy and we're looking at it head on!. A spiral galaxy 2.73 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Triangulum. It is catalogued as Messier 33 or NGC 598. The Triangulum Galaxy is the third-largest member of the Local Group of galaxies, behind the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way.
