Description

NGC7009 is an iconic PN quite resembling its nickname at the EP (given sufficient aperture). At -11 degree declination is a VERY southernly object to try at any resolution from my location. I took a earlier snap at this PN early in 2004 from Italy at longer focal length but the original FITS are sadly lost. This snapshot has way better S/N and colour rendition with a somewhat reduced resolution. None the less the results, considering its maximum altitude of 25 degree, are quite interesting. In fact I was amazed they turned out as good as they are. It was what I would call a shot in the dark, pun intended.
