Description

After receiving my Optolong narrowband filter set and a long long period of bad weather, I was able to capture some nights of narrow band data. I could have made my life easier by choosing a well known, bright and common object but it weren't me if I hadn't chosen something more challenging. So by using the famous "shooting the dart at the map" method, it happened to be Sh2-72 and it's "neighbors".

It was a challenge to capture the data and it actually gave me some headache, as the globular cluster NGC6749 wasn't showing up in the OIII channel!! After some back and forth it appears that the OIII get's lost on its way from the cluster to earth, probably or maybe by interstellar dust, scattering the light. Whatever it may be, I combined the Ha and OIII data and came to this result.

Besides this, it was challenging since all of the objects are very dim. I haven't found any serious brightness information for this nebula anywhere, except some B-V values, where I'm a bit careful to cite them, in the SIMBAD database.

I hope you enjoy!

Feel free to comment (just be a bit patient with a NB beginner).
