Description

The 41st target on the Lunar 100 list is Bessel Rays, which are fascinating lunar features named after the German astronomer Friedrich Bessel. These rays are formed by the ejection of material from impact craters on the Moon's surface, creating bright streaks that radiate outward. Bessel Rays are unique because they appear to originate from a single point, known as the "ray source," and can extend for hundreds of kilometers across the lunar landscape.
