Description

Every day that it's sunny, I check the NASA Space Weather app to see if there are sunspots...and today, there finally were! And quite a large one too, with some buddies nearby. It's been a very boring solar minimum. I wish a had a solar telescope, but my Seymour Solar filter will have to do for now.

I had a lot of dust spots and gunk on my camera window (I finally got around to cleaning it today, after this shot!), and I tried slewing the mount around to blur them out in the final stack, but neither AutoStakkert nor RegiStax could handle that, even after I pre-aligned the frames in PIPP. So I wound up just taking a chunk of frames where I didn't move the mount. Oh, well.

I colorized the image in Photoshop to look kind of like how it looks through the filter visually.
