Description

I'm still new to Astrobin, but thanks to all of you who post and comment. (I'm especially enjoying those who write in German, it's become a new way for me to practice language skills.) Here's last night's shot of NGC 2024 & IC 434 in B&W.  We were supposed to have a clear evening here in Texas, but unfortunately the clouds rolled in after only 80 minutes of exposure. So, where I was hoping for lots of data, I only got barely an hour. Second, I'm posting this because I just learned how to use photoshop to split an RGB photo into separate channels. This B&W is actually the red channel. That was a fun new wrinkle in my learning curve.
