Description

One of about 150 known globular clusters of the Milky Way, M3, is one of the largest with around 500,000 stars and is about 34,000 light years from Earth in the constellation Canes Venatici. It is about 180 light years in diameter. M3 is notable for containing more variable stars than any other globular cluster.
