Description

Messier 81, known as Bode's Galaxy is a bright magnitude, spectacular galaxy!

The Bode Galaxy's companion, designated Messier 82, the Cigar Galaxy lies a distance of twelve million light-years away from our planet.

Both galaxies have performed an intimate dance like the Tango, 300 million years ago. Where as Messier 81, maybe undergoing a surge of star formation in its outer spiral arms, due to the close encounter with M82.
