Description

Our nearest galactic neighbour, Andromeda is the farthest thing most humans can see with the unaided eye. Of course, you’ll need to have darker skies to do it, but this massive galaxy is over 2.5 million light-years away and spans a wider field of view than the moon in our eyes.⁣

We are star dust.⁣

I completely forgot about this data. The weather has been roughly -400C for several weeks and I decided that if I cannot shoot the stars I should at least clean up my image storage. Well I’m now glad I did (found a few more too!) 😄⁣

This was shot across two nights in late August and is the last data captured with my 250mm refractor telescope and One-Shot Colour (OSC) dedicated astronomy camera before I swapped them both for a monochrome camera.

8hr 48min total exposure time, 2x drizzle
