This is an LRGBHa capture. I also took an hour of OIII, but it really wasn't worth it - there is hardly any OII signal in this field of view and although I included it, the faint blue glow doesn't really show at all. If you are thinking of capturing this target, dont both with OIII. I wish I had taken some SII instead.

Anyway I'm pretty happy with how this came out. Ha dominates of course, but there is that little island of blue that came out nicely - I am slightly surprised that this reflection nebula doesn't have a designation in any of the DSO catalogs. Even the van de Bergh catalog doesn't recognize it.

The NGC 2264 region includes the Fox Fur and Cone Nebulae, and the Christmas Tree and Snowflake Open Star Clusters. It's about 2,700 light years from Earth.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
