Description

NGC 2841 is in a distance of about 30 million light years. Besides the well-visible "flocculent" spiral, it has a low surface brightness extended star disk. In Bortle 6, I can only show a very small part of this even with quite a bit of integration time. You can see it a little better in the inverted black and white image in revision B.

In the left part of the image, you will find the double star HD 80606 and HD 80607 which form a system. In 2001, a planet was found circling HD 80606.
