Description

First time shooting a Globular Cluster. Since there are no faint nebulae, the shooting was quite rewarding and the processing quite gratifying.

The Hercules Globular Cluster is one of more than one hundred globular star clusters in the halo of our galaxy. It consists of several hundred thousend stars. Since these stars are relatively densely packed, they 'sometimes' collied and produce/emerge to new stars ==> the very hot blue ones in the cluster.

Distance to earth: ~ 22.000 light years
Apparent dimensions: 20 arcminutes (compare to the moon: 30 arcminutes)
