Description

Messier 94 (also known as NGC 4736) is a spiral galaxy in the mid-northern constellation Canes Venatici. An unusual feature of this galaxy is its two ring structures.  A spiral galaxy in the core, surrounded by a second ring of active star formation.

As a result of this unique appearance the galaxy is commonly known as the Croc's Eye Galaxy or the Cat's Eye Galaxy.
