Description

This is a single image of M17, taken June 22, 2020.

We don't have much in the way of astronomical dark at my locale at this time of the year, as the sky remains at various shades of blue until midnight, and my window is from midnight to about 2:45 am.

I was busy earlier this week during new moon and took images on a number of objects.

Below is an experiment to have a look at M17.

Scope: SV 70t with SV FFFR

Mount: Unguided with HEQ5

Camera: Canon 60D

ISO: 800

Time: 1 x 180 sec

f 4.9

Filter: Optolong CCD CLS for LP reduction

Processed slightly (contrast and some saturation) with photoshop 2020.

No darks, flats, bias frames.

Some egg-shaped stars, but well..., its unguided. 🙂 I think I could do better with a less "perfect" balance and make the set up slightly East-heavy.
