Description

A beautiful cool and calm morning with Jupiter shining like a steady beacon in the sky.

I saw a great presentation by Michael Martin during the Astronomical League "Live" broadcast where he was processing video images from his DSLR in PIPP, AutoSTakkert 3 and Registax. It took him about 2 minutes to process and had a decent outcome. I've been thinking about getting out my DSLR again, but knew it would require some processing. But even I'll try 5 to 10 minutes of processing to get those results.

So I got up early this morning and spent 30 minutes shooting video of Jupiter and Saturn in the POD with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Then went through very fast processing steps with PIPP, then AutoSTtakkert 3 and Registax. They turned out OK for limited processing, and that's probably about as far as I'll go for now. Now back to my visual observing projects.
