Description

I imaged this in early December 2023 using my trusty ASI1600MC-Cool, but with a twist. I was Impatient to use the narrowband filters that shipped to me almost immediately in late November while my first monochrome camera was seemingly on endless back order. I threw the filters in front of my color camera, and the results were not too bad if I may say so myself.

I realize it's probably something of a waste to use narrowband filters in front of a color camera, but it's not all that different from your dual-narrowband filters that are all the rage.

IC434 epitomizes what I thought of as a kid in terms of 'coolest object in the sky,' and it still evokes that wonder, especially now that I can image this from my very own back yard.
