Description

Planetary nebulae are my astro jam. There's something incredibly beautiful, scary and sad about them all at the same time - the fact that few of them are as perfectly spherical as their origins woudl suggest they should be just adds to the allure.

They're even more impressive when you remember that they are all roughly the same size, from teh Helix to the Eskimo - which makes capturing the detail both a challenge and a frustration in equal measure - oh for sub-arcsecond seeing in the Atacama (or even better, the vacuum of space!).

For now however, this will have to do - I've presented this two ways - RGB+HSO and HSO alone - curious to see which the Astrobinner's prefer.

Title: HSO (narrowband) edition

Description: Same target, same location, same data - except JUST the HSO subs. Curious to see which folks prefer - for mine I like the more natural star colours, but I prefer the contrast that the nebula is afforded by the narrowband filters.
