Description

The Pelican Nebula is an HII region located in the constellation Cygnus and is part of a large region of nebulosity which includes the North American Nebula.  This is a particularly active area for new star formation.  The new stars heat up the surrounding gas causing it to become ionized and giving it a bright glow. This is image is made up of 13 hours of data captured from my driveway using my Orion ED80 T and ZWO 183 MC Pro camera with Optolong L-Extreme filter.
