Description

Who hasn't been fascinated by Hubble's and JWST's images of 'The Pillars of Creation'?

For 3 years now, I have been trying to image it. But everything at my location is against me. First, it's a summer target, and we always have a lousy summer here: rain, clouds, wildfires, smog... you name it!

Second, it's always low in the sky, reaching a maximum of 42° and always behind the only lamp post in my street. Over the last 2 months, we had 6 clear nights. I used 2 of them to fix and test my equipment, and the remaining 4 (short) nights I gave M16 a try.

Unfortunately, I was not able to get any RGB data for the stars, so I had to improvise a bit. They call the main feature 'Pillar of Creation,' so why not be creative? There is more than enough 'Scientific/Natural/Accurate' representation of this target. I wanted something beautiful.

Obviously, my humble gear versus Hubble's $5.8 billion & JWST's $10 billion USD optics can't be compared... but forget them; it's my best image ever!

I hope that if you took the time to look it up, you will enjoy it as I do.

Karl
