Description

Sh2-145 is an extensive emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus. This is a great nebula of heterogeneous appearance and divided into several sections. It is located at the distance of about 900 parsecs (2900 light-years) in the direction of stellar associations Cepheus OB2 and Cepheus OB3 and perhaps linked to the expanding super-Cepheus Bubble. Nearby is the star recognized responsible for its ionization: HD 213023. Visually near to Sh2-150 is the reflection nebula VdB 154. Its distance is not yet known, therefore is not possible to claim that there is a physical link between both nebulae.

12 micron IR data from the WISE All SKy Survey. Processed with FITS Liberator, PixInsight and Photoshop 2022.
