EDIT: new 2020 data, stretched the red channel a good bit. Using SVBONY UHC filter which seems to let in OIII/H-beta and H-Alpha, but the red channel is out of focus when the lens itself is focused. My stock DSLR does seem to pick up Ha signal, and I believe in greater quantity than if shooting unfiltered, and the channel separation is easier in post. It seems that I need more exposure time overall to get more Ha, but shows that the filter works in isolating just that wavelength. I was under the impression that a UHC behaved like a CLS, but where a CLS lets in most wavelengths except for the ones that street lights emit, a UHC only lets in light at certain bandpasses, and nothing else.

Processed in Pixinsight, STF>ABE>Color Calibration>Background Neutralization>Split into R/G/B and did individual NR/unsharp masks, curve-stretched the R channel further. Morphological transformation on R and B channels, then recombined and ran ABE again. After that, did Histogram Transformation and copied a new instance of STF to the window, turned off the auto-stretch in the toolbar. Used EZTool suite for the rest (EZ soft stretch, EZ star reduction, EZ decon, EZ denoise/Rista mask).

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
