Description

This is the M33 Triangulum Galaxy at the constellation Triangulum, that is 2.7 Million Light Years away and contains about 40 billion stars with a diameter of approximately 60 thousand light years.

It is one of the relatively easier deep-sky targets to capture and this is my first attempt at it, which was taken Saturday(09.10.2021).

This is bit more closely cropped and probably final(!) version of the image where I cleaned up the horrendous sky -glow gradient, enhanced the luminosity and finally added some diffraction spikes for dramatic effect and depth.

The bright red star formation areas in the arms can be seen here which are ionized hyrogen clouds that are also called H-II regions that are massive regions of star birth.

I think I am pretty happy with this final version. During post processing, I realised even my 2hrs 40mins total exposure seems not to do any justice for this target and it probably would require at least double that and maybe even data in LHaRGB to bring out more details of the bright red star formation regions.

My rig:
Omegon Doublet Pro APO AP 66/400 f6 ED w/Omegon Field Flattner
Optolong L-Pro
Sky-Watcher HEQ5 Pro
QHY Polemaster
ZWO ASI 120Mini Mono (Guide)
Svbony SV 165 30/120 f4 Guidescope
Nikon D5600 (Stock)

Total Exposure: 2 hours 40 minutes
With 4 minute guided subs.
