Description

This is an image of NGC 2841, the Tiger's Eye Galaxy in Ursa Major taken the night of March 4, 2024 from my backyard in the New Mexico Astronomy Village near Deming, New Mexico. It is a stack of 38 5-minute RGB exposures taken through a Stellarvue SVX180T refractor telescope with a ZWO ASI6200MM camera. The galaxy gets its name because it is similar in color to the Tiger's Eye gemstone. The image has been cropped to highlight the galaxy. The field also includes several smaller galaxies of various shapes and colorful stars.
