Imaged in July, 2022 in my front yard while working the kinks out of a used CEM60 I purchased to put in a dome I planned to acquire used. I concentrated on one target so I could focus on figuring out some issues with the mount. A Canon 500mm f/4L with a IDAS NBZ filter and Ha mod 5DII and a Radian 61 with a mono-mod 60D and either an Astronomik 12nm Ha clip filter or Astronomik 12nm OIII clip filter were double-mounted, side-by-side, on the CEM60. Subs were integrated in APP. Initial image is a straight integration of the subs from the NBZ filter, and the mono subs were excluded.

Title: Veil Nebula Complex - HOO

Description: I used the same subs as the regular integration image, but extracted the Ha and OIII from the IDAS NBZ filter using the Astro Pixel Processor duo narrowband algorithms, added the Ha and OIII subs from the mono 60D, and then combined them as an HOO image in Photoshop by combining the Ha and OIII into an RGB image.

Description: The original straight integration of the NBZ filter files resulted in more Ha visible, while the HOO version resulted in more OIII visible, so I brought both into Photoshop as separate layers and blended them together to give a better overall color balance.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
