Description

The Dolphin Head Nebula (SH2-308 ) is 5000 light years from us with a diameter of 60 light years.
The star near the centre of the nebula is a Wolf-Rayet star in a pre-supernova phase and has created the bubble. The central star has completely lost its outer hydrogen and is burning helium. The bubble is material from an earlier stage of the star's evolution.

Image is from my telescope and astrocam in the back yard, Bortle 2.

This was acquired with narrowband and RGB filters and my first attempt adding in RGB stars.
