Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is located almost 0.5 billion light years away in the constellation of Aquarius at a declination of -13 degrees.  It is a magnitude 15 object which spans 40 arc-seconds in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a width of 90,000 light years.

I could not find any information on this object.  It appears to be more than 1 galaxy – whether it is 2 or 3 I am not certain.  My best guess is that these are 2 merging galaxies, with the 2 bright regions corresponding to their cores, and that the stream to the upper right is a tail of one of the galaxies.  But SIMBAD labels the bright region at the end of the right tail as a separate galaxy, so perhaps this is a galaxy triplet.
