Description

📍The discovery of M35 is usually assigned to Philippe Loys de Cheseaux, who observed and cataloged it in 1745. 📍It is also printed in John Bevis' Uranographia Britannica, completed in 1750, so Bevis must have discovered it independently. 📍Charles Messier, who cataloged M 35 in 1764, acknowledged Bevis' discovery. 📍NGC 2158 is a very compressed, rich gathering of faint stars contrasting nicely with the bright, scattered Messier 35.📍 NGC 2158 is smaller and fainter than M 35 because it is much further away - 16,500 light years as opposed to 2,800 for M 35.📍 It is over ten times older than M 35, and because of this, its light is dominated by yellower stars; the hottest -----My Instruments------Scope: SE ED127MM w/ #Starizona .63 focal reducer (633 focal length) @explorescientific Mount: AVX mount ⚙ @celestronuniverseMain Camera: ASI294MC 📷 @zwoasiGuide Camera: Asi120mm-mini 📷 Guide Scope: Svbony #SV165 @svbonyastronomySvbony SV195 dew heater stripZWO 5V EAF ⚙Brain: AsiAir Pro 🧠L-Pro @optolongfilter 🎨  ----Acquisition----218 x 60 sectotal integration: about 3.5hrsBIN1x1Dithered (every 5 frames at 5 pixels)120 gain-20 degree ----Calibration-----40 darks60 flats60 dark flats100 bias ----Processing----DSS/Pixinsight
