Description

My very first attempt at the Horsehead and the Flame Nebulas at Orion on Friday, 18.11.2022. Friday night towards Saturday morning to be precise. Was quite a cold night about -4 -5 degrees C but was totally worth being under the stars after a long time. I also remote controlled my rig this time around, so after setting up and taking calibration shots, I was able to spend most of the imaging session warm and cosy inside. 😉

This image consists of 4 hours of total integration. Sadly I was not able to get enough H Alpha data as after 1 hour Ha collection, cloud formations popped up. Therefore, I was not able to collect enough data to make a significant impact when blending to create an HaRGB composite.

This also happens to be the first light of my ZWO ASI 183MC Pro.

Hope you like it.

My rig:
Omegon Doublet Pro APO AP 66/400 f6 ED w/Omegon Field Flattner
Optolong L-Pro
Omegon Ha 12nm
Sky-Watcher HEQ5 Pro
QHY Polemaster
ZWO ASI 120Mini Mono (Guide)
Svbony SV 165 30/120 f4 Guidescope
ZWO ASI 183MC Pro (Unity gain, -10C)

Total Exposure: 4 hours (RGB only, no Ha)
With 6 minute guided subs.
