Description

The North America Nebula (aka NGC 7000) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus. The shape of the nebula closely resembles the continent of North America with the Gulf of Mexico represented by the bottom region of the dark clouds. ANorth America Nebula and the Pelican Nebula (aka IC 5070) are separated by the silhouette of the dark band of interstellar dust L935.
