Description

NGC 7217 is a galaxy in Pegasus, about 50 million light years away. It is fairly small for my equipment and I've never imaged it before. Its main feature is 3 main rings of stars surrounded by a gas cloud. Also, stars in the disk are rotating in opposite directions, suggesting what we see today is the outcome of an earlier merger with another galaxy. I found it very difficult to get too much more detail than what is shown.
