Description

One of the closest planetary nebula to earth. This proved to be a challenge to pull those faint details. I started imaging with relatively short exposures (7-min) until I realized that there was lots h-alpha signal in the surroundings of the main nebula. At that point I started acquiring 30-min exposures only on the h-alpha channel. As a result, the h-alpha subs were very rich in data and my main processing revolved strongly around the h-alpha channel.

I would have loved to get some Sii and RGB data but that will have to wait till next year as it is currently getting dark later and later and the nebula is only visible for about 20 minutes before it gets obstructed by a tree.

But overall, it's been a joy to work on this amazing target!
