Description

Another testdrive in deep sky with my Mak.

PK 164+31.1 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Lynx at a distance of 1600 light years, discovered 1939 by Rebecca Jones and Richard M. Emberson.
It's central star is a very blue white dwarf.
It is a 14th magnitude PN, so this was a bit of a challenge for a Maksutov, reduced from f 15 to f 11 @1980 mm FL, but I modified this scope slightly several months ago for this purpose.

It is a fun-project and keeps this hobby more challenging for me so that I am constantly learning new things about gear and postprocessing and so on.
